It was an honour to be asked by Sarah Calcutt, Chairman of the National Fruit Show (pictured above) to sponsor this year’s Bonanza Prize. Congratulations to Agrii the winner of this years prize which is a bespoke VIP tour of the English Spirit Distillery. We are also delighted to be working in partnership with the National Fruit Show’s Education Programme. Having worked within the industry for over 12 years we see this as a fantastic chance to give something back.

This year’s Bonanza Prize is a bespoke VIP tour of the English Spirit Distillery, the UK’s original small-batch distillers. Up to 4 Guests will receive a 2-hour tour of the distillery, see all the bespoke equipment used to make their products and receive an overview of the distillation process from orchard to bottle. The tour will be led by Master Distiller, Dr John Walters with an opportunity to receive a guided tasting with him on all of their product range (15+ spirits and liquors) in a private bar area. Included in the prize is an overnight stay for all four guests. In addition, there will be a 10% discount on any shop purchases.
The Great Yieldham Hall site in Essex dates back to the 13th century and hosts its own orchard with a variety of produce growing all year round. They make close to 30 different items, some of which are substantially seasonal because they might be spirits or Eaux de vie made from seasonal fruit. They have fantastic damsons, greengages, up to 10 apple varieties and five different varieties of pear in the orchard on site.
We wanted the winners to get an insight into another side of the fruit industry and how other products can be made from the fruit exhibited at the show. The distillery guarantees this will be a tasting tour like no other and we hope our winners enjoy the experience as well. In addition to the above, we will be giving a bottle from the Distillery to all Bonanza qualifiers.
