Blossom, the education Van in partnership with The Marden Fruit Show Society

“Blossom” is the OnePay van which is used exclusively by the registered charity and education teams of the Marden Fruit Show Society (MFSS), to deliver a FREE curriculum-linked education programme aimed at Primary school children and their families.

MFSS also organize the National Fruit Show, which acts as a meeting place for the agricultural industry. The centrepiece of the show, held each November, is the largest show of its kind in the UK.
Blossom isn’t just a van in the eyes of our teams, she has a character of her own, and provides vital transport for the education team at the charity to support the fantastic work that they do within schools and youth groups.

Sam, who leads the education programme says “Blossom  gives us greater access to schools and venues across the UK. Thanks to OnePay’s generous sponsorship we’re able to reach a greater number of young people with our fun and interactive lessons.”

Ukrainian evacuee support

OnePay is based in Ilkley, a small market town in West Yorkshire. Due to the availability of social housing and host homes in the local area, a community of Ukrainian refugees, escaping the war in Ukraine found themselves in this quintessentially English part of the world. These people, largely made up of women and children have witnessed the worst atrocities and left their country, homes & belongings and family & friends; largely with only the clothes on their back.
Acknowledging this loss, the team were deeply aware that these people also left their professional careers behind. Feeling compelled to do something, we organised a series of career workshops for the evacuees, through the Ilkley & Surrounds Support for Ukrainian Evacuees community group.
From these workshops, OnePay has so far welcomed a number of Ukrainians into the business. We continue to support the community with local events & fund raising, and the community has thanked OnePay for helping them re-establish their purpose, stability and financial freedom.

“While OnePay operates nationally, we are passionate about our local community. Our campaign has widened to form a relationship with I.S.S.U.E, the Ilkley & Surrounds Support for Ukrainian Evacuees (ISSUE). Our collaboration has been a real success story for all parties, and we will continue to reach out to this community to fill vacancies in the future.”
